no heat from your heater normal is
1 head gasket going or 2 heater matrix blocked. or 3 no water in the rad

just replaced my heater unit and suddenly thought dose it matter what way the pipes go round on the right hand side of the heater unit i have mini city so its the early type heater unit. and chance somone could have a lil look at there pipe layout inside the car. the one that comes from the heater valve i have on the bottom connection and the return back to the rad i have on the top connection. thank you........also to awnser the question further up with just cold air could be an airlock might be worth bleeding out system.

well ,,,,,, if hot water or air rises then you need to put hot in to the bottom so it seems right in principle . it has been done both ways and both work so should not be to much of a problem ,the other thing most people dont think of is air lock often caused by the hose which goes thru the bulkhead being higher than the radiator simply remidied by shortening and /or by pushing it further down into the cabin thru the bulkhead hole ,air block then dissapears and hot air comes back.
