Do any of them have an octane booster included? Is it worth using one that does? N

hello mate i used redex but on minisport i bought a inline leadadditive filter that gose into your fule line were you choose. i found this more affected and also not such a worry forgetting to put the redex in. they recomend changing around 6-8 months.

if you have to buy the additive then i reccomend redex have used it for years with no ill effect , however you can and i have used a real piece of lead rolled into a lump about the size of a 35 mil film cannister and simply drop it into your tank and forget it , then you can use super unleaded for the octane advantage with no further and regular expence ,just choose your church roof carefuly as they have security nowadays !!!

I do have about 4ft of lead pipe in the shed that I was going to recycle. So how does that work if I stick it in the tank Think I will stick to Redex then. N

I used to use castrol valvemaster plus in my green cooper, it still managed to knock the valve seats out in less than 10000 miles, best option as far as I am concerned is to whip the head off and take it to Minispeed who will supply and fit hardened seats for £70. Simples. The 'bits of lead/canisters in fuel tanks/fuel lines' thing always smelt a bit of horses**t to me..
