Hi Matt, I don't know about now, but going way back the Nikki carb was a downdraught twin choke job, a bit like a Weber 28/36. Wouldn't give as much power as split Webers but probably not as thirsty either! MkI is right about the bonnet clearance though bulkhead clearance will be tight with splits too What have you got on there now? Good luck, Martin.

to fit the splits you will have to cut the bulk head out, the nikki is a straight forward bolt on, and i cant under stand why split webers drink more petrol mine dont use any more that twin su's it's a myth, bit overboard for a 1340 unless you have a full race head and 296 lift

For your engine spec the Vizard book would say stick with 1 3/4 SU, Twin 1 1/2 SUs or a single Weber 45. Although for looks I would go with this every time. N

Nikki a bit of a dead end really, split webers would look fab but be complete overkill.. I personally would go for (as Neil says) a single Weber (or dellorto) 45, assuming that you are happy that you will have to mod the bulkhead.

I Agree with the Fuel Injection Comment But... it doesent stick out the top of the bonnet! or blow back flames! N
