i have just test drove a mini with a mg metro engine it went very well with no smoke and sounded sweet i then had the engine removed and loaded into my wifes boot while i watched ;D just wanted some advice on servicing bits that may be hard to get to when in my mini and if i should change anything while its out. i know this sounds dumb but i have very little knowledge of engines so any advice would be great

i always do a water pump as they can be a pain the the arse, other than that it depends how far you want to go, you could do a gearbox lingage bush kit, cheap and stops that oil dripping from your gearbox www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35775&title=GEARBOX%20ROD%20CHANGE%20ANTI%20O... give it a service, oil, filter, air filter( unless its a k&n) that can be done in or out the car. give everything a good clean and you might as well paint the engine to make it look nice,

I would suggest some BMC Green Paint! Seriously though if you got a good MG lump for £100 then you are doing very well indeed! N
