Lubrication helps when slipping rubber things on .
Last time I put a Bypass hose on it was one in the morning at Riv Run campsite and me Paul and Daz were all drunk . That time the water pump had been wrongly diagnosed as the fault so the job was easier with that off . I have done them in the past without removing anything but it is a struggle . Avoid the thin rubber belows type hoses you can get , they are easier to get on but dont last as long . Use a reinforced piece of hose and 2 new jubilee clips , lube up the hose and have a go . I put one hose clip up the new pipe and let the other sit over the tube that comes out of the water pump. I dont fit the hose and then struggle trying to get the clips wrapped round the hose try to get them together and then tighten them up .

soak the hose in hot water for a bit to make it a little more flexible

all advice is good, the bellows type doesn't last long but its a quick fix, an old trick we used to use was to tie the new reinforced hose up into a U shape using a piece of twine, slide in place and cut the string, it really does work! cheers Glenn
