Hey guys! bit of question, driving back from work today i heard when going over a bump in the road a weird metallicy noise kinda like scrunching up tin foil but worse lol. It seemed to me to be the front suspension nut when i got out i pushed down on all corners and no such hint of a noise!!! anyone got any ideas cos i wouldn't have the foggiest where to start thanks guys ;D

sounds like you copuld have a knuckle joint worn through its nylon cup. it sits between the top arm and the suspension cone, hope this helps

Could be the disk shield although that would be more like a ringing N

you could play guessing games all day long on here but i would sugest you get it looked at as soon as possible as it could be an INPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE which could require immediate attention before you and your passengers become hospital or worse statistics.

Well said Shawn. As you back from Uni? Your welcome to drop by my lockup tonight and we'll whip off the wheels for an inspection. Its outside Hailsham, so it might end up on bricks anyway ;D Else get into a garage asap.

Thanks for all your help!!! upon further inspection it seems to me that its something to do with the exhaust!!! had a good look underneath and the exhaust is touching the body of the car in some places. also the noise appears when i rev the engine and the revs then return to normal! going to get him properly jacked up tomorrow and have a thorough check. Once agian thanks for all of your help guys, muchly appeciated!

;DHey everyone, just to say thanks again, turned out that it was the disc dust shield that had fractured, the two sides were vibrating against each other making that noise. I've taken it off but it is completely shagged so need a complete new one for the left hand side, does anyone know where i could get one on the cheap!! ?
