Hi all ,
Just seen a post (and this is not a dig at the poster) and read that they were waiting days for headlamps , not getting into where from and why its going to be days but would like to point out that standard Mini parts such as lights are available from a Motor Factor local to YOU .
I think a lot of people believe a Motor Factor only sells to the Motor Trade . This is not true .
Ok I am in the trade but can tell you now I can get a pair of headlamps, service bits , shocks , subframe mounts, electrical items and other stuff delivered within the hour.
I use AJAY Autoparts (Kemp Town branch 01273 600560 Paul, Gary, Steve) who I know have a branch at Bexhill at bottom of Harley Shute and other places around the county/country so if your local branch does not have it another may well do . I have had parts delivered to me via my local branch from Ajays Hampshire depot the same day . If still not available it can be ordered overnight.
There is also Autolec in Newhaven 01273 514668 ( Fred )and another branch in Finmere Rd Eastbourne . If one branch does not have what you want the other branch might , if not it could be sourced next day .
CPA (Brighton branch 01273 701777)is another factor that hold good stocks and are all over Sussex.
Unipart have branches all over the place.
Do not forget Caffyns , (Hailsham 01323 845666, Steve) although be aware that some genuine stuff from the old Rover main dealer network is expensive and can infact be cheaper from Minispares London for the same part in the same Rover packaging.
For standard exhausts and tyres I use David at Arrow Tyres in Newhaven 01273 515128. He also carries out 4 wheel laser wheel alignment, they set up the ajustable suspension on my Mk1 .
So that part you require doesnt always need to be 'ordered' .
I work in a garage near Brighton , I do not know the phone numbers of Eastbourne/Hastings area Motor factors only my local ones . Have a look in the phone book for your area and the factors close to you .....
Can recommend all the above . Been buying Mini bits from Autolec , Hailsham Caffyns and Arrows for over 20 years .
I use Ajay, Autolec and CPA daily when ordering parts at work.
