Can anyone tell me how to identify the different braking circuit types. Haynes Manual says there are 4 different types: - Single Circuit Early Dual Circuit Diagonal Split Dual Circuit Front To Rear Split Dual Circuit The only thing Haynes does not tell you is how to identify these different types. Thanks Neil

Hi Neil, Off the top of my head they are fairly self explanetry i.e. single circuit being a single take off brake line from the master cylinder which services all four wheels together.
Early dual circuit I think was seperate feeds to front and back without a pressure regulating valve mounted on the bulkhead.
Diag split dual curcuit is same as front rear split but break lines linked diagonaly.
Front rear split dual circuit I think is seperate take off for front and rear but with pressure regulating valve for rear brake fitted on bulkhead.
No doubt someone will enlighten you more proffesionaly than I can but hope this points you in right direction. Best way to identify is trace the brake lines from master cylinder to each wheel and note there configuration.
Regards John

Cheers John, I thought I better ask rather than just assume as brakes are safety critical! N
