Just wondering as orignal non spacered Minifins are no longer in production would it be possible to machine off the built-in spacers on a set of Super Minifins Dont want to buy a set just to find out that its not possible. Also what are the hardest linings you can get for drum brakes? N

think it would depend how much alloy there is on the inside it may find it will weaken it, and having it machined, it will have to be spot on as its an important part of the car i would buy the right part for the job and not adapt and after market part, may be cheaper to hunt ebay, shows and post around some of the websites, try www.minicooper.org there are people on there that sale some rare parts from time to time

If it is only a spacer I would have though you could have machined most of it off? at least to the orignal minifin spec. still not sure though Problem is 2nd hand ones will almost certainly be warped or nackered. if you see any new old stock give us a shout. N
