Hi guys I'm hoping to get there on Saturday in my car providing i can solve the problem of this noise i have Its a knocking/ crunching noise from the front passengers side wheel It does not do it all the time and it does it whether I'm turning or braking. I have checked the brakes taken the drum of and nothing unusual there. Checked the hub nut was a bit loose so torqued it up but problem is still there after torquing and then driving i have again checked for play in the bearing but there is none there. There is also no play in the ball joints and when the car is jacked up i turn the wheel by hand and it feels smooth. Any thoughts will be gratefully received and i hope to get under it tomorrow after work ready for Saturday ;D Cheers Alan

Got the same problem as Alan, didn't see a pot hole down a country lane which I hit with my left wheel. Since then get a knocking noise when I turn left but only with speeds of 30 Mph +. Gerald had a look at it when the car last went in and couldn't find anything ! Ant

Sounds like a front wheel bearing to me, perhaps it's only doing it under load?

Wheel bearing sliping inside hub?
Have you done any work on the hub apart from readjusting the nut?

I think taking the hub off is the next step and changing the bearing the only reason i did not do that before was because we torqued it up and had no play i have been taking on a few short runs to day for a test drive and there is no noise? will have to check with old man what he thinks so may be there tomorrow or not? Thanks for all the coments and help
