Hi My brakes started making very strange noises yesterday and then they stopped working Daddy and Mummy took them off and this is what they found... Can you tell me if this hole can be welded? Is it easy to do? They also found this.... Can these be rebuilt or do I have to buy new ones? I hope someone can answer these questions for me. ;D Thank you ;D Dale

you don't need to weld it, some body filler will be ok as long as you sand it back and paint it the right colour. The brake pads can be re-used if you make them a bit thicker with some old unwanted cardboard from a cornflake packet. Make sure you use copperslip grease when re-assembling or if you haven't got any of that, margarine will do. Bloody hell Dale, no wonder you crash into things...

Rather than weld the hole why not cut the centre right out and place the remainder on mummy and daddy's gramaphone record player. Lower the needle onto the outer groove and sit back and enjoy your very own disc-oh! ;D ;D ;D

why bother, just put it back on, turn the radio up loud ,you will not hear it.
and the looks you will get will not be from the loud squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealing, but just people liking the black and orangle colour scheme
as you only have one pad your caliper pistons should come out far enough to touch the disc to make you stop, so thats ok
and start using the old fail safe , hand brake, simon will give you lessons in that
they should easily last till the end of march 2009 when we go to brooklands were you can pick up a cheap set, and a even cheaper set second hand

Can't see the problem....folks pay a fortune for drilled and grooved discs. Put them on Ebay :-)
