Trailer for Carrie

I've been looking for a trailer for a while, even considered purchasing the fibreglass pod, but the expense to start with was just too much! Then an evening browsing good old ebay last week, I had another look, and a part finished trailer came up, and only in London! It hadn't been on ebay for long I think, but had a buy-it-now price, and was considerably cheaper than the fibreglass option, so I bought it with buy-it-now! I went and picked it up on saturday morning, and managed to purchase a towbar of the same guy, so that ws a bonus! Fortunately most of the hard work has been done, just needs a little finishing off and then making it look like Carrie. The idea is for it to match Carrie, with Sportspack arches, 13x7 deepdish alloys and a few other bits! A list of items that i need will shortly be goin on the wanted section. Still a bit unsure about wot i'm goin to do for a lid/top, so any ideas would be greatful! Also if anyone has built/owned a mini trailer before, then any advice would be much appriciated! Will keep up to date on how it goes.

Looks like a nicely done trailer there, well done, just the decorating to do! May have most of a roof panel from a mini available if that would be any use as a lid?

Quick update;

Arches have arrived, so they hopefully get fitted over this week as on half term. Decided what to do with regards to the lid, we're gonna fabrucate one to fit, was the best option, (and lightest). Am gonna have a drive around in the week to get quotes for painting it, so if anyone knows of anyone or companies that do spraying along the south coast/sussex area, then let me know.

Been a while since anything has been dont to the trailer, and frantically getting it ready for rivera run! Been working on it 3 nights in the past week, have decided to go for a 'tempary' lid so i can use it, managed to get hold of a laminated white board from my local primary school, and have crafted a lid out of that! Its been hinged, and last nite the lid was fitted. A bit of tidying up today, and should be ok to travel, with a lid locking deivice and screw some temporary arches on and should be able to pack it tomorrow ready for friday! It wont be painted, but that should not be too far away now as there has been a start made, but its getting used and not just sitting there, will put some photos later!

Heres some pictures, lid all fitted, and secured! Fitted straps on to the inside, to stop it going too far over! Its all loaded and ready for the journey on friday evening! Doesn't tow too bad either!







Steve, this came along at the right time, would've loved to have done it the way we talked about, maybe some day

Wont fit any in Steven, absolutely full up wiv camping stuff, but stil have the rest of the whole car, so plenty in there, lol

These arrived today, taken me ages to find a set with the same tyres as Carrie has, but have finally done so, thanx to plenty of looking on ebay! Rims are in an ok condition, probably a couple are in bettter condition than on the mini at the moment!
