i have just put new brake calipers on the front and bleeded them no trouble. But when it came to bleeding the back ones i topped up the fluid and connected the easi bleed system to it. but wen i started to pump the pedal the fluid went down and stopped and wen i stopped pumpin the fluid level began to rise!!! i followed the haynes manual in which order to bleed them!!! but really am stuck on why the back drums arent bleeding!!!
Many thanxs Scott ;D

has the car been sitt for a long time, ,
the cylinders may be seized, or the pipe work blocked,
take the drums off and have a look to see if everything is still working firsts

as we always say start with the simple and the obvious things
it could be just air in the system , but take off the rear drums and make sure everyting is in working order and also the rest of the braking system, no point in trying to bleed them if they are not in working order it would be a waste of time
if it is the pipes then its best to replace them , the bloke at the car shop can make them up and if you are a paid up member you get 10% off,

i have put new wheel cylinders on the rear now and bled the system all through. the offside rear is hard to push fluid out of. also after pumping the pedal a couple of times it starts to build up pressure but as soon as i stop the pressure disappears!!! and the pedal hits the floor again! many thanxs Scott

Sorry Scott but if it pumps up then disappears again, it's still got to be air in the system. What's the master cylinder like? I once had a tiny pin hole in the bottom of one that was almost invisible to the eye, but it was enough to cause problems....Martin Mc

thanx martin for the advice i think its the collapsed rear brake lines that are causin problems, as there looks to be small black bits floating in the fluid that has been pushed through the system!!! many thanks Scott
