Hi i have an open classic and the sunroof has gone wrong! makes loud clicking noise on opening  Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?thinking maybe Driving motor) Where would i get one from? Thanks Lucie |

It does sound a bit like the gears in the motor have worn. Not cheap I'm afraid. I'm guessing it will not be cheap to replace  But without a close inspection cannot say. It could be really simple. Do you have the small handle to wind the roof open or closed still? |

Hi,it is an electric roof has little button on inside. It seems to make more noise opening and now sticks.  I think your right it could be expensive |

I agree, they are very popular still, so even spares are in high demand. Above the rear seats in the motor, with a plastic cap. Pull the plastic cap down/off. An allen key handle can then be inserted on rotated to open and close the roof. Its at least a cheap method to use the roof Webasto are still going strong, send them an email and I'm sure they support the product still  |

That's great i will try that,i checked web site it seems they would want about £900 for a new roof :'(so will have to hold off on that idea as he needs mot next week also. Good job i love mini's as it has cost me a fortune so far as they do  Thanks for advice. Lucie. |

may need a new mini!it has just failed mot due to bodywork,anyone interested in buying a open classic? Runs as sweet as a nut.and looks tidy too surprised it failed. |

I am certain we could rescue you and your car! Where are you based, I could come along, have a look at the fail sheet and advise as necessary. I know someone who does good value welding jobs and i'm sure anything else could be sorted out for not much money!!

you can still get a whole electric sunroof original webesto fitted at classic minis for around £1400 but that sounds expensive they might be able to fix it which will cost a lot less they can also fit the sunroofs from scratch ;Dh
