MINI 30 RESTORATION  Its not a full resto as the cars in preety good condition but still needs some tidying up. as far as i know its all orginal, i want to keep this look but add some subtle modifications. Spec:Engine:Standard 998 A-Series Interior:Half leather seats with 30 logo tags steering wheel with colour coded leather and 30 logo boss Original carpets Exterior:30 logo on side,boot and bonnet badge with side stripes Original alloys original cherry red colour Jobs/Plans:Exterior:Refurb alloys Sort out the doors(theyve been really badly repaired but ive got them booked in for new skins and a repaint)
Take out dents and kinks (booked in with above work)
Replace drivers side a panel (booked in with above work)
Sort any holes and rust spots (booked in with the above work)Angel eye head lights with red haloWire up fogs Now going to get rid of the fogs Centre exit twin dtm exhaust Stage 1? Interior:Re-trim steering wheel Replace pasenger side rear window New headlining Custom Bootlining with embossed thirty logo I also have some little silly things to do, ive done a couple already. Ive put a new gear knob on with the thirty logo on it. Ive also added some dust cap covers with the thirty logo on. I intend to do this with the wheel centres. Ive uploaded some photos of it at the moment, photobucket.com/Mini30, and as you can see the doors are really odd and let the entire car down but that should be sorted out soon along with the major rust spots and holes when it goes in next week. Also the wing mirrors are hitting the the body when i drive  . I will keep you posted with more info and more pictures as i go on! Adrian |

**UPDATE** Got the car back yesterday and the work they have done is superb. The difference is amazing compared to what it was, the doors actually match now ;D. The angel eyes have arrived so i just need to fit them. Also the decals have arrived so i now need to reapply those to the sides and the boot. Booked it in for its MOT, should hopefully pass, fingers crossed. I have taken some photos of it how it is now (after work) and updated them onto my photobucket page. If you look at the new and old photos you can get an indication as to the terrible state the doors were in before and how they are now and you can see that the large and horrible dent by the right hedlamp has been sorted to!. Cant wait to get her out on her first run, the pilgrimage!!!! Will keep you updated when i add things etc. Adrian |

Looks like you still need a new neadlight bezel. probably better to get a good second hand one as the new ones are cheep made in china rubish and will rust.

*UPDATE*Just a small update. She went in for her MOT on monday and sadly failed. Knew she wouldnt pass but there were a few unsuspected things on the list. What i knew she would fail on was the lights, they dont flash and full beam turns them off  . Although i tried to fix this on sunday after reading on this forum the solutions to someone else who had this problem and missing the cooper day a beaulieu (thin thats how you spell it?) for it i couldnt fix it. Also on the list was a worn tire, exhaust emissions,steering gaiter and there was something wrong with the exhaust. Should all be fixed at the end of the week though ;D During her absence ive had a few items arrive and they are now sitting here teasing me. First were the decals to replace the ones that were taken off for the previous work, next to arrive was a chrome GB badge. Also a pair of seat recliner handles which i noticed were missing just before her MOT also the angle eyes came just before she went in so they are putting them on for me  . Another thing that arrived,from eBay, which put a grin on my face was a model mini 30 in the exact same colour with the same decals as mine. Im hoping to get this signed at the pilgrimage. I have uploaded a picture to my photobucket album but for those of you like Stephen here it is:  Also when arranging my erm collection i found this, it reminded me of Alan even though its not a clubman it is the original "bean" machine although his is probably cleaner ha ha:  Well that turned out to be a rather large update  Adrian

Havent had much time lately to do anything but managed to find some time today. Had a look at the brakes setup. There was some wear on the drivers side pads. Ive ordered a new set from mini spares. Had a quick check of everything and nothing is seized or anything. Whilst i had the wheels off i decided to paint the calipers and drums a nice bright red  Calipers Before:  and after:  Drums before  and after:  (Forgot to take pic before i put the wheel back on ha ha  ) |
