right it was freezing on saturday but started on the new engine stripped down the ancillaries and imediately hit the first problem found the water pump is corroded so will have to replace it then found one of the bolts on the thermo stat housing had welded itself to the housing and the head of the bolt sheared out. so with a bit of brute force i smashed the sandwich plate to bits and uscrewed the whole housing to get the bolt out. good news no damage to the head and i have a spare finished stripping it dowwn and painted it so it's now one shade of red instead of 3 then stripped down and rebuilt the clutch before the shivering finally got too much and i went indoors to thaw out
