forgot about SMD, so started engine change sat about 11ish.
Had old engine out of car about 12.30
12.31 remembered SMD
Decided to leave the auto subframe in the car and try and get new engine in to make Sunday.
After welding the engine stay bar bracket back to the bulk head and fitting the clutch housing back on tried to fit the engine, a lot of swearing and throwing tools around got the 4 subframe bolts back in with the spacers on the engine mounts its now about 3.30
not looking good for Sunday, still, chin up and plodded on
snapped the bolt from the stay bar in the block spent about an hour trying to get it out
everything going OK till i try and fit exhaust 998 different to 1300 pipes hitting driveshaft, buy this point crying mess on the floor, give up and go home to walk the dog, called Jim for help
get right exhaust from Jim (thanks mate) sorted now just have to put the rest back, what fun why ddo we do it?
