You know where I am . ;D.

Subframe and engine back in today .
Going to leave engine in now until the conversion is finished .When done i will take engine out and paint it for the last time. Looked into possibility of front mount rad ( see my request for a MPi one) , reckon with a mod I can get the alternator fitted in the original position . Exhaust manifold with the fat cat built in fits a treat behind the grille. connected up engine bay wiring and ran looms into final positions ready for securing . Speedo cable fitted ok . heater pipes ran through grommets and into car ok . throttle cable looks like it will fit the mini pedal ok . cant find the clutch cable at the moment or the mini heater so other than drive shafts they are only issues left to do . gear change wont be a prob , fits under subframe ok and will just need the link rods cutting shorter and re-welding.
A productive day and it wasn't snowing and freezing cold . ;D

looks good dave, matt has all this to look forward to.
to me its one of the perfect non a series engine to put in a mini.
nice size that it fits under the bonnet, with out big mods
is under the 1595 tax class so £120 not £210 for over 1595
no paying out for a subframe, just modify a subframe
nice power, around 80bhp, which makes a pokey like car. 5 speed gearbox etc etc loads of micras around, cheap to pick up compared to honda vtec or vauxhall, its a bargain
my welding works looks funny in that photo. but it was nice contuious welds, looks better now its been filled and painted.
glad to hear you have the alterntor sorted how did you do it in the end.

Cheers guys .
I was happy with the alternator mount I made Dean but it is going to be much easier to finalise the tensioner and guide roller for the belt with the engine out of the car . So I will do that when engine is out again . Waterpump belt is sorted and I am happy with it .
Would be nice if I could get it to Riv Run Neil. The Mini part of it is easy and I hope the final connecting of wiring loom will be too as it is the entire Micra loom that will only need the rear lamp connections modifying and bolting all the earth connections on to get it going . Bargain basement build this one , already had the painted shell and allspeed frame knocking about, the Micra car was given to me by my Boss (cheers Frank) and got the engine bay painted for nothing as I already had the paint from when it was originally sprayed . Had to pay for the LandRover engine mounts which were a couple of quid each on ebay , buy some metal plate to make the mount brackets and pay Dean for a bit of welding .
The Micra conversion owes me about £80 so far . ;D
Currently not looking forward to the drivshafts . I need to put the suspension back together and fit some old hubs first before I can get on with those . Really I need to buy a welder as my snap on one has had it and they are really handy for tacking and fabricating bits and pieces .
I am umming and arring about using the MB Split rims . I must of had these nearly 5 years now and they have not been used on a car . I do have the 13inch Ultralites currenty fitted which I have had for 10 years but if I do not fit the splits to this what do I fit them on ?.
