cool cheers, am i right in saying they would give better performance than an 1"3/4 single carb? You asked what WAS fitted to um. Had this debate with Gerald as to what to fit on GT after it's rebuild.Boils down to your engine spec and what you are after just out and out performance , smooth acceleration ,fuel economy, etc, etc, What sort of BHP are you expecting as this will give you a guide to carb size? Have a look at Vizards tuning book it gives you a graph on carb size against bhp. After a lot of studying and with help from Gerald I went for a single 1"3/4 as was not going for just performance wanted to use on long runs as well If it's any help GT pumps out 96 bhp,102 lb ft,doing approx 35 mpg, very useable power range and goes ---------------------- fast enough for LITTLE ;D ole me ;D ;D PM me if you want engine spec and any more info.

Hi ,there is no point in puting a twin choke on a standard head or standard cam,if its a lightly breathed on engine go with a 1.75 su.Easy tune and smooth running, but if its sheer grunt then twin choke. But twin su's look so good on an a series. If your running a 1380 stephen you will need a 45 not a 40,the biggest chokes you will get in a 40 is 35 and these will not deliver at full on throttle, also they wont give you such good response on pick up. if your trying to put together a race style engine you will need 4 things;a good ported head with big valves ; a race profile cam ,remembering the bigger the cc the bigger the cam durations you can run. ;a big carb of the twin choke variety ; a very well lightened and balanced crank and flywheel assembly. without all these things in place the others parts are wasted or at very best restricted . cheers k1
