Ok the sensors help the planet by making sure the engine runs correctly and to its full pottential to help lower and eliminate harmfull emmisions. SO [glow=red,2,300]Why do the manufactures do all this clean stuff and then have a dirty great polutting 5 litre V10 engined 4x4 in there range or a V8, V12 petrol/ diesel saloon or 4X4 model [/glow]. Look for yourselves , Audi/VW have all the above alone , most mainstream manufacturers have 4x4's and or similar vehicles in there model ranges . No wonder the b.uggers cost so much to tax . Deservedly so . I cant help remember my dad's dirty great P6 rover with all that clockwork stuff on a 3.5(+/-0.5)ltr V8. 20 to 30 mpg. A Guy at work has a 5lt v10 job with all the electric gameboy stuff.... funny enough it has an mpg of 20 to 50! It goes faster, quicker, more econmically and enviromentally friendly. As you say Dave, the clock work stuff does the job and is simple. The world needs to be cleaner than that. So in come the gameboy ECU's and 500cc smart cars.... But we all really want a short wheel base landrover with a V24 rolls royce spitfire engine. Its a comprimise. The hoops they have to jump through to prove a smile.

jeez, i'm lucky to get 22 out of the rangey.. have you seen that guy who has put a rolls royce meteor (the non supercharged version of the merlin) into a rover sd1? its awesome, 25 litres, he is aiming for 1000bhp, runs it on lpg and is looking to turbo charge it next! its normally in practical perfomance car magazine, i'll google it to see if i can find anything..
