hello, just after some info, can anyone tell me if twin 1.5 su carbs will work well with a 1098cc engine? or is the engine to small? its just that i have been offered a set of twin 1.5 su's at a good price and wondering if it would be worth it, or would it be more hassel than its worth? cheers -matt-

More hassle than its worth in my oppinion- like ac dodd was saying, its very hard to match them up if they are worn out. Perhaps a bit on the large side too...i'm sure twin 1.25s are better for a smaller bore engine, correct me if i'm wrong

to big matt , will cost to rebuild properly and will need proper setting up . A single 1.5 SU will be adequate. Will need correct needles etc and setting up properly as I am sure you will be using a non standard exhaust inlet and air filter. Get your carb rebuilt and set up on a rolling road and believe me you will be pleasantly surprised at the outcome. Have been speaking to AC about a engine for my car and he did suggest we could go to twin 1.25's . The engine was 1293cc , sw5 cam , Calver head etc and looking at around 80-90 hp. So you can see a pair of 1.5's on say 50hp could be to big . D
