I am reluctantly selling all my MGF parts .
I bought a complete 1996/97 MGF 1800cc VVC car some years ago .
Drove it from Hove to Peacehaven and then dismantled it for a Mini conversion .
The car has under 50 thousand miles on the clock . It belonged to a friend who owned it when she was living in the Channel Islands hence the low mileage . She moved to Hove and stopped using it because she got the bus everywhere and I don't think she could be bothered to legally register it here to be used on our roads . . Anyway , I got it from her , drove it from Hove to Peacehaven with no problems , I can remember sitting in loads of stationary traffic between Falmer and Rottingdean without issues from the cooling system , ie head gasket is sound - it did not overheat .
That's a bit of background about it .
I am selling a MGF K-series 16valve 1800cc VVC variable valve timing engine with under 50 thousand miles on it , dash board verifies mileage and is included , plus the matching 5 speed 1800 gearbox , ecu , full vehicle wiring loom which I labelled during removal - a small number of labels have come off but it's simple loom like a Metro so won't be a issue and as i say it is a small number - 5 or 6 maybe. I also have the complete electric power steering column with its own control unit , airbag steering wheel and steering column switches - this is again metro based so should go in Mini . I have the metal cooling pipes that run underneath the MGF and the rubber front radiator hoses on the ends , I have handbrake lever , gear lever assembly and gear change cables , half leather front seats . Some of this needs digging out of my ex partners garage so may well include alternator, starter and I am sure the rear silencer , radiator which was nearly new, cooling fan and some other F related bits are also still about But cannot guarantee that till I find it . I will even throw in a new head gasket set and the professionally custom sprayed cam cover I have for it . I have the Channel Islands registration number and the chassis number written down , obviously the reg is no good other confirming it was from Channel Islands and again puts some more truth to the low mileage but the chassis number will aid parts locating/purchasing if needed. I also have the keys and I think it's got a key fob thus meaning it will have a working immobiliser if the full loom is used in the mini , plus if the full loom is used the MG also had central locking , electric windows and 2 speed intermittent wipers which could be mad to work if the right parts are found , don't think I have the central locking an electric windows but might have the wiper motor , anyway everything MG I have will go with the engine etc .
There is enough with the wiring loom, gear-change and water pipes to carry out a rear wheel drive , rear engine conversion , all you need is to find MGTF dry subframes or convert MGF ones to coil overs or just bung it in the front , either way your looking at over 140hp , a five speed box and power steering for £200 less than MED's cheapest road comp A-series cylinder head which on its own now sells for £700.
Yes , I only want £500 for the lot .
I will get all this out ready for collection from Peacehaven Mid April .
Sorry cannot deliver as my van clutch went this morning and I do not have the money to do it and the dual mass flywheel till this has reluctantly sold to pay for it .
Do not reply on here or pm me .
Please text or call me on 07568509460 , I cannot talk whilst working but will get back to you . Sorry but my phone will not pick up Voice messages either .
Cheers , Dave .
