well beaulieu has been and gone and the bank got a bit of a bashing for parts for the elf.
mangaed to pick up a mini sport cooper 12" to 10" convertion show price £203, bargain cheapest i have ever seen
also got,
new wheels bearing
new ball joints
2x new cv's
2x rear raduis repair kit
2x top arm reapair kit
plus a few other bits and bobs for a head
came back and we popped round to have a good look at the elf
well i have now got my head under neath it and the floors are soild and so is the boot floor, got a touch out and looked under the hindge panels and under the rear lights, the only thing it needs is a battery box which is a plus, its had a few patches in its time but they have been done right and are still solid, it probery down to the thick coating of under seal, tar under the car
but the doors need doing, the spares we got have started to go on the frame at the bottom, so i will repair the originals as thay are a good fit, i will replace the bottoms and put new skins on them
drivers door step has i hole so i splice in a section of step section in
both flitch panels and around the door hinge holes look a bit suspect, andsome one has done a cheap diy repair where the air vent comes in but that will get sorted when i do the flitch.
one A panel has a slight hole the other looks like it has been newly partly fitted so they will come off and get done properly and make it eaisier when i do the flitch
both wings have been replaced at some point they are not the best fit and are a pattern panel and the pressing arounf the head lights are poor so they will come off and be done properly,
the scuttle is solid on both side which is good.
the front panels is a bit miss match, looks like its a mini front panel with parts off a elf front panel welded to it and the indecator holes have been by someone with a jig saw blind folded, there about the right size but a bit lashed
everything else is solid, so its just there front end and doors to do, priced it up and its about £350 of panels, from mini machineso they are good quality
engine wise the clucth was left pressed in, so untill i can depress the clutch arm i can put it in gear and see if the engine turns over, the engine has no oil in it but everything is still there
