hello, really the best way to get this shell done is to spend some money and get a welder and a decent bottle. dont want dishearten you.nothing smaller than a 130 turbo welder and get as gasbottle from adams gases, disposible ones will cost you alot with the anount of welding that needs doing
but thats what i have done, i tought myself to weld, and it did not take long, trial and error, having other people doing bits and bods really is not the best thing, quaility will be different, people will always mock other peoples work, bodges, time getting panels to fit is the thing that takes time.
what type of panels have you bought, on a project like this i would only use mini machine or heritage, as anything less just does not fit as well and could take ages to fit, or will not fit and you have to buy a decent panel.
what needs doing. whats been done
i know, been there and still doing it, i bought a 62 mk1, did not look as bad, untill you start digging, and list gets bigger and bigger, complete front end, front panel both wings, both inner wings, good second hand bonnet, and boot left and right inner and outer A panels, scuttle, both door bottoms, both door skins, left and right inner and outer sill sections of the floor pan drivers side door step drivers side rear quater complete boot floor including rear seat rear valance roof. and 80% are heritage and the other mini machine, and all these have run around £700 or more they fitted but still needed tweeking but not as much as pattern panels i am a perfectist and like it right and i think the car deserves it
so buy yourself a welder, i dont mind giving to pointers on how to weld, but i have my own project and cant help with the welding

Heres my advice for budding welders........ The range of welding machines and companies or shops that supply them is immense, try to avoid machines that have a minimum setting of over 30 amps (they'll just blow holes in Mini panels) and if you are a complete beginner look for a machine with a minimum setting of 20 amps (much more Mini friendly). The machines from DIY shops and tool supermarkets are generally built and spec'd down to a price and contain poorer quality parts. Go and speak to a local welding supplier, they will be able to point you in the right direction. The local one to us are.... J.E. Marchants Theobalds Cottage Sandy Lane, Theobalds Green Heathfield. East Sussex 01435 865147 SPA Welding Supplies Marlborough House Marlborough Road Lancing Business Park Lancing West Sussex BN15 8UF Telephone: 01903 766909 Fax: 01903 756180 E-Mail: sales@spawelding.co.uk Website: www.spawelding.co.ukI can recommend SPA Welding as I recently bought a SWP170 machine from them. Its a superb quality semi proffesional bit of kit, well worth the £400 price tag.

Thank you so much guys. I am aware of my money pit and I will look at a welding course if I still keep on coming across shut doors. All the parts I need are already with the car as my mini advisor knows his chickens and warned me it was not going to be a cheap toy even with his help, I have a floor pan, and lots of other parts which I am assamed to say I can recognise most but could not tell you what they are Thank you Grant, I will give Chris a call
