hi all, not really mini related however you may be able to help. i want to turn my standard ford rs2000 pinto head into a big valve head and also make it unleaded. i was wondering if anyone knows a local reputable machine shop which will port polish, seat new valves and unleaded seats for a resonable price. any input will be great ;D

I'm guessing, but if you speak to one of the Ford specialists they might already have one on the shelf for exchange? Might be better value for money as they know what works in more detail than a generic engine shop Edit that, just seen the prices on Burton's website!  |

exactly think they are about 700 quid can pick up a set of large stainless vavles for about 140 then i'll need someone to seat them and port and polish the head, just trying to work out a cost price and wether its worth it, i hear alot of the pintos power is unlocked through the head.

go see mike down at sussex engine centre, he knows pinto engine very well, as he has built loads for roads cars, race cars, stock cars, hot rods, etc. he has been doing it for years, he a old time racer, knows all the little tricks etc he can supply and fit, valves,guilds, skim it , unleaded conversion, i think he sends it out to be ported and polished, but he will be able to sort your head out for you. if there is anyone to go to about pinto engine its him.!!!!www.injection-correction.co.uk/sussexenginecentre.html |

was about to comment asking for your input dean after you reccomended them to me
i only got my head skimmed but the workshop is very impressive and they did me a great service and were top blokes

There is a guy I use in broad oak, brede, he does my race car engines, and has done vauxhall red tops for us in the past and very good and reasonably priced. He doesn't have a website, but he is situated behind the citroën garage in broad oak, just pop in and see him and he will give you a quote
