Starting this thread for sam as i help out alot is a 1991 mayfair and the previous owner put some good work into it, fully deseamed, spax shocks all round, 13x7 ultralites , from the outside is a lovely little car, inside has MG zr seats in the front and no back seats yet. so far have replaced battery, rear 6" speakers for some 6x9s in the parcel shelf, new slave cylidner, new rear brake shoes and handbrake cable, got some free seats off jim, cheers mate starting to dismantle old engine engine is a bit broken so currently undergoing an engine swap, sourced another engine but are a bit stuck for fitting it, not really sure what we are doing :S any guidance or help would be appreciated!

If you haven't got an engine lift you might find it easier to disconnect the brake lines, lift the shell and drop the subframe out complete. Then you can give everything a good clean and fit the replacement engine into the subframe.
You'll have to lift the car quite high though, but it's probably the easiest way without a proper crane.
