i have a mini spi but the heating and cooling system has been greatly modified to the extent i dont know whats what. I have problems understanding the correct system let alone this one. It doesnt seem to boil up or over heat however, when something i buy is moded i get paronied that its wrong. After all theres a lot of pipe work some rubber, some braided and some been cut. If anyone could take a look for me just to put my mind at ease that its been done correctly and the water is taking the correct routes i would be very greatfull.

The pipes you say are braided are in fact fuel- flow and return pipes to throttle body.
The best thing to do is look at my old car - Katentel's Sidewalk .
That is a Spi , completely standard under the bonnet and all in good working order .

right done that dave and it would seem that they are all correct pipe work but it looks like the mini was preped for export with air con pipes and other extras everywhere and a big whole in the wing where i guess the rad would have gone. But its defo not a inport as i have the origanal sale docs etc strange I also have a very strange 3 speed heater. Yes 3 speed with adjustable climit control but i cant get any hot air out lol. Im guessing matrix is F****d obviously i will check the other things first like thermostat, air locks etc but i cant see it being any of these as its hitting normal running tempreture with no over heating or under cooling.

ok took thermostat out, checked, all good. Put heater on and run engine with cap off trying to blow out any air locks, then noticed that when the wife was pulling the heater cable there was no movment in the pin thats on the inline valve. Replaced that and now got hot air on all 3 speeds.
However, i did make a school boy error, that was i was so overwelmed i had found the problem, that i did not let the engine cool down before pulling the pipes off the inline heater valve. You probly can guess what happend but all im saying is theres a lot of pressure in them pipes.
