Yeah I took it to my garage and they tested it for me and said it was dead and they suggested a lil place in bexhill to get new one which was fairly cheap only £38 which i felt was quite good. Put it in and runs perfectly

well as a nice birthday present the car decided to die lost power and started cutting out, just about got it home, radiator was dry and smoking there has always been a bad leak so either its got worse or something punctered it but think this may have blown the headgasket aswell as wont start and is just pouring out water
not sure what to do now, still paying off £700 for last bit of work :\

Oh dear Hopefully if it's just the head gasket it should be an easy fix. Fingers crossed the head is not warped or worse. I've had the block crack before on a 998, in between 3 and 4, but that was on a race car when i kept going despite a funny noise (!). The head gasket went on Sheldon's 998 a couple of years ago when me and Simon were out in it- turned out just to be a routine thing, they don't last forever. If something doesn't feel right, pull over and have a look!

OK so got a new headgasket on ok and was running well, 3 days later and a massive puddle appears under the car . quick emergency call to my friend and 4 litres of tesco value water later got the car home, the bypass hose had a small hole so as soon as pressure built up it drained the rad got a new silicone one on, little bugger to fit! for a hose of about 3 inches having to take the whole rad out was a pain! new hose fitted, blue mmmm wire brush and new lick of paint on the subframe a while back, oh and sams car, he finnaly passed but now has no clutch! also got a new housemate so dimitris sharing the garage with this! 1800cc 6 cylinder Goldwing, is beautiful! alex
