if they are 14" they will prob be from a metro. im not sure if the offset is the same as a mini, however if they are, you would have to cut the arches a fair bit and may even have probs with tyres rubbing on suspention dampers to fit 13" wheels a fair amount of cutting is needed so 14 is quite mad. personaly i think putting 14" wheels on a mini is stupid but hay its your car. what i will say is the smaller the wheels on a mini, the better the ride/handling etc

oh that one .
ratio 1:1
one in drivers seat one in passenger seat . helps balance and corner weights.
Gerald Dale will talk to you about corner weights.
Important when changed suspension and wheel set up to equalize the equilibrium

if you go as big as 17" you need to get a bigger exhaust, and a sub in the boot,
you can normal get them as a package when you buy the wheels so it works out cheaper
thats the reason why i said they are a pain in the arse and only used 16"

Hey I might have bigger wheels and exhaust but I think I got short changed on the sub
Seriously though to fit 14's to a classic mini is no different to fitting 7*13's in the way you trim (& probably tub) the arches. You just need to make sure you have enought off set so that the wheels can clear the inner arches and the suspension dampers.
Where the wheels hit the outer pannels all this can be trimmed and covered by new arch extensions e.g. sport pack arches.
14" wheels with a 195/40/R14 tyre should not be too much bigger than the 13" 175/50/R13 in overal diameter.
Hope that helps.

Oh and if they dont have enough offset to clear the inner arch / damper then you can always change the offset by using wheel spacers between 1/4" & 1" N
