Spent all day saturday on the estate, completely stripped the interior out, still got the wiring to do, and thought as i have it down this bare i will replace the whole floor and sills on the drivers side before i fit the carpet! also bought a new dash to go into as i wasnt a fan of the fibreglass dash. Foam levelling in the back More foam...... No foam - not too bad to remove actually...... One seat out, see the nice welding to the floor All carpet out, the sound deading is going to be fun to remove.......not New Dash - going to cover/paint it myself, not sure how yet, any ideas anyone??? Probably go for a black and white colour scheme Both together for the first time

Dynamat is the most horrible stuff in the world to remove. I cut my hands to shreads and resorted to a blow lamp and a scraper. I've left the stuff on the floor as it is- can't be done with removing that as well

Ok, well floor is almost in, just got a bit more welding to be done, and then tidyed up around the edges. (pictures to follow) What i do need to know is what is the best undercoat to use, and where to get it from, and also is there anything else that i should treat it with inside or out before I start fitting everything else?
Thanx, Gareth

I blasted the entire mk1 shell to bare metal , inside, underneath , outside , subframes and suspension . Then it got sprayed in red oxide zinc primer before a good primer and top coat . Should get red oxide from Halfords or any good Motor Factor . Paint ? I guess the nearest to you is Ponswood Paints near Jim . Got the mk1 paint from them and the current project cars although even the current project car was painted in 2006 so not sure wheher they are still any good or not .

As been concentrating on getting my race car sorted, the estate has taken a bit of a back seat, but been getting on with a the dash board in the evenings whilst at home. And also the new switches have finally turned up that i ordered about 3 weeks ago!? Main area covered, with black Clock surround covered in cream and just got the glove box door left to cover Clock surround with indicator lights fitted Treated myself to some new switches Gareth
