Ive had my manifold repaired and the carb has been replaced....carb leaking fuel car trys to start but no spark to actually get him running.....
I know not alot of info but i havent a clue and herc really has to go now. Need the garage asap!
Any help would be amazing!!!!

Hi is it good old points set up? if so take dizzy cap off, ignition turn on, and flick the points to see if they spark. it is just as likely to be a duff coil connection, if you get stuck give me a ring but i will not be around much tomorrow.

Ok i havent actually a clue in hell and i really need this to be sorted ASAP as it has to be fixed to be sold. the car HAS to go. Info is: The batt is connected all fine, had to put a few extra washers on for the connection to be perfect but it works...its turning over but it hasnt got that last extra kick to actually start....HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who has any ideas or anything please let me know, luckily this isnt the one i drive around day to day.

It trys to start as if you havent pulled the choke out.... I really hope this triggers something with someone! its so frustrating!!!! Looked in my stupid mini book as well and nothing is ringing any bells....
Why cant the problems just tell you what they are! I dont like surprises any more!

i had same prob today mine turned out to be the points had a bit of dirt on them so wasent making a good conection

Spark plugs etc all clean. still wont start.....
But now it is promising its so close its stupid!! Went to start and then back fired...

sTART FROM THE BEGINNING AGAIN
Check leads are on right etc etc and work through it , use the manual to help .

you say the carb has been replaced has it been set up properly ie fuel air mix etc

try turning dizzy cap a little bit to the left or right,ignition timing might be out. don't over do it

All sorted!!! woo, there was a bolt missing at the top of the manifold!! Thanks for all the input really appriciate it, i tried all of them before i noticed the obvious bolt that wasnt there!!!

have you never seen a magical sparking bolt man,they normally sneak into your toll box when your not looking. i had once but sadly it jumped onto an old rocker cover and road away into the sun set ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
