These guys should be ashamed of what they do and I really urge people not to go to any of them.
You want tyres, exhaust and 4 wheel alighnment dont use kwik fit . I recommend Arrow Tyres in Newhaven , been using the guys there for over 20 years .
Had a issue with the Newhaven Kwik Fit nearly 2 years ago . A car came in to my workshop for service and check exhaust. I serviced it and advised returning to Kwik fit to sort the exhaust Free under warranty AS THEY HAD FITTED IT ..
A few days latter I had a call from the customer sAying KWIK FIT RECOMMENDS A NEW CAT AS ITS BLOCKED AND GLOWING RED HOT . I was suspicious I told the customer to get it back to me , it wouldnt drive so it had to be recovered .
On return to the workshop I checked a couple of things and TRIED TO START IT , IT WOULDNT RUN AND DIDNT SOUND LIKE IT WAS FIRING PROPERLY , I FOUND OUT THAT SOMEONE HAD SWAPPED ALL THE PLUG LEADS ROUND . I SWAPPED THEM TO THERE CORRECT POSITIONS AND IT RAN A TREAT .
This car drove out of my workshop after I serviced it and for a few days latter , drove to KWIK FIT and magically all the spark plug leads changed positions .
Dodgy B.stards . Trading Standards got a call on that one .
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

a few years ago my nan had a problem with kwik fit in eastbourne too, she had an exhaust fitted by them and with in a few weeks the inners of the silencers were hanging out the exhaust pipe.
she took it back to them, and got made to look like a fool. so she returned with my cousin who was up to a 18 months ago was a mechanic, and got it sorted and replaced for free.
we always take our cars to hankham motor works, nice local garage been there for years and years, dont ever rip you off know what they are doing, and a are a local independent garage
the rip off garages are still out there, and love to take advatage of people who dont know there way around there car,

I had 3 new exhausts from quick fit on my saxo within a 2 month period. none of them actually fitted right one of them knocked on the swing arm, one had to long a centre section and the 3rd was a complete bodge. the chrome tail pipes also went rusty within 1 week. In the end this was a major contributing factor as to why I sold the car. N

ESCC trading standards .
The trouble with non genuine Renault , Peugeot and Citroen exhausts are with the centre to rear silencer flanges , where the 2 sections are clamped together . The rear silencer has a round male end and the centre silencer has a concave female end. The genuine ones go together really nicely and both the flanges are a good size . The non genuine ones are not .
To ensure a good fit between centre and rear silencer sections on French cars you have to spend the money on a genuine part . I advise my customers on this situation and although the genuine part is more expensive the customer will not have to keep coming in to have the bloody thing re-aligned because its blowing at the joint . Done exactly that with a customers 206 today . She didnt want any grief and went for the genuine parts.

Had the very same problem on my merc van yesterday Dave. Tail pipe dropped off which is approx 80% of the system so off to AJay, went to fit and they have two female ends with a metal domed gasket between. this gives a fair amount of tolerance if the tube is out of shape but it still did'nt align properly' So out with the trolly jack, block of wood and blowtorch. made sure it aligned properly before clamping. Job done. Often get the hanging bars bent or not in correct position on after market exhausts but alter before fitting as genuine merc stuff a rip-off. john

Yep thats the same scenario as the french stuff . I do find some Merc stuff is reasonable , fuel filters are not , neither are rear shock absorbers fitted to 2002 model Merc 500 SL's at £990 each ........ yes its true...... £990 plus vat each. . Its got a system where fluid links all the shocks and via a computer it pumps up the shock when your cornering to reduce body roll allowing the car to corner flat . This shock also needs the system bleeding and setting up at Merc. Fluid linked suspension sound familiar . Imagine what Issigonis and Alex Moulton could have come up with if they had computers 50 years ago .

Its not just Kwik fit in Eastbourne. My other halves Polo decided to spit the stuffing out of the rear box and i could not be bothered to crawl under the car so off we went to Kwik Fit in Peterborough.
Now there was nothing else wrong with the car AT ALL but the pluke ridden retard said to me the the rear shocks were worn out REALLY and the front pads were low NOT THEY WERE NEW!! Anyway said retard then tries to take off the exhaust hangars with a filthy great pry bar. I told him the hangars can be removed with a 10mm socket and then the rubbers are easy to remove.
Retard says "i know what I'm doing" obviously not so i told the bell end to stop and get the car off the ramp. He looks at me bemused and said " it won't take a minute" and i then said to him quite politely "what part of get the car off the ramp don't you understand exactly???" By now the manager appeared on the scene to see what was going on. I explained to him why i wanted the car off the ramp and did not want any part of the car being used as a fulcrum to remove bloody rubber hangars.
I came very close to unloading a big bag of feck off on the idiots. Needless to say i left with the exhaust still rough but sorted it myself the following day.
Can't get better than a Kwik Fit fitter yes you bloody can, my 7 year nephew could do a better job.

What is it they say... oh yes
Never argue with idiots as you only come down to their level and then they will beat you with experience.
Best of sticking clear.
