Our third outing in the special went well at Headcorn Airfield Sunday. Rolled the mini onto its side twice in one test. Thankfully Paul fitted a lap belt that morning which prevented me from been thrown out of the car. As it was just on its side, I could push it upright from within the car, still finished that test with a time! But pulled the tyre off the rim.... Quickly fixed. Thankfully no damage to the car but a grass stain on my hands. Bonus was that I learnt to do J-turns to the left only now! :-) Been offered a roll bar by someone who took pity on us. Car fell apart nuts and bolts wise. That knocked our confidence, Loose manifold nuts sounded like a head gasket, water hose rubbed through on the 'Ultimate; engine steady. A mid afternoon last minute fix up helped us complete the last four tests with confidence. Managed a 1st in class, Paul 3rd in class. Roll bar, hydraulic handbrake, paint and a double check for any more loose nuts next! Oh and the MOT.... Simon AKA Team 'Chuckle Brothers'
