Hey guys ,
Just need a quick reasurance, i know its good practise before removing a cylinder head to put it to TDC but do you have to with a mini as ive never done one. Many thanks

you can if you want to but if you are only removing the head,then putting it back i dont think there is any point as the push rods just go back on to the cam and put the rockers back were they should be when you tighten the head down

as long as you dont take the timing chain off.

putting it a tdc is only for DOHC 16v heads where the cams are on top of the head and the belt runs on the 2 cogs on one end of the cams and they have to be in the same place or the timing will be out
