Dont know if this is the right place, but i have started using a magical product for removing all that grease, Dirt and grime from the outside of the engine. and its called "GUNK" sold in a Red and Black Can. I havnt seen it stocked in many places i picked my two cans up from The Cranbrook Common Garage in KENT. \
Kindest Regards Alastair.

gunk is good but quite expensive ,i normal buy engine degreaser in a five liter can which does not have a big name to it, i find it does the same job, best to wash things in a plastic box , best is a cat litter tray as you just keep dipping your brush in to the stuff thats already run off,
and i always have a bucket of hot water to wash the parts out in as it drys quicker and blow it off with a air line
always best to have some in the shed.

I always tend to use a Petrol and Diesel Mixture to clean the grime off wire brush or other implement!
