Well she's going! Got back last week from another overseas trip with work. The duckling was running but had no torque. It would slightly accelerate with no throttle up to 40mph, open the throttle and it sounded like it was laboring! I guess it must of been the head I slapped on, so replaced it with an unleaded head off ebay for less than £20.. ;D All new gaskets on the manifolds to prevent air leaks. Alas - The fault was not resolved!! So a call to the trusted know it all - Shawn. We threw around a few ideas like accidentally putting on an over sized carb, wrong needles, air leaks and ignition timing. To that point I had not touch the ignition timing in the last 6months, why would it be that?? But it was the easiest thing to try. Ten minutes later, the air filter and vac pipe was off and the car held at 3000rpm, whilst turning the dizzy until the peak rev, then turned clockwise a couple of degrees. Would you believe #!!#@~~# that was it. Since the head gasket went I'd done three head changes and replaced all the gaskets on the manifolds! Just show that with wear and tear it does need a little readjustment every now and again. Compliments to Shawn! At the Miniheaven Tech support desk My payment will be in a 'pint' format at the next club meet ;D

Hello all Duckling fans! ;D Before Simon gets the chance to post this himself, thought I'd get in there first! ;D once again Sod's Law has dawned apon us and our January 2007 is one not to want to remember! The Duckling had an interation with a sign post & now needs a new face job & a good plastic surgeon! Coming off a roundabout, over a rise, hard left, skid, sign post...no longer standing , then a few harsh words....... ...... but the engine runs & we only lost one bulb, .......needs wing, bonet, bumper, grill, light, mounts........that's the evaluation so far. ....Simon now sending out search light signal for 'Minihaven Man'! I believe he's going to appear on Thursday. Thank you! Afraid no pictures as of yet because my camera is broken too. But will get some taken tomorrow. We are ok though, a little shaken but we & the Duckling are back home. Having a strong drink now. ;D

Coming off a roundabout, over a rise, hard left, skid, sign post...no longer standing , then a few harsh words....... Few harsh words!!! All I remember of sliding slowly into the sign post, was Josie jumping out of her seat , shouting an unrepeatable drawn out rude word. The amount of times I've taken that corner and at faster speeds. Guess thats cold tyres and a damp road for you! I pleased its the Ducking and not Matilda or my Mpi. But in hind site, I wish it was my MPI, I really could of done with a new front end and re-spray on the insurance. ;D Muck with a duck!! I could claim on the insurance and finally get the duckling painted!!

No insurances claims for this one. We'd rather not have to pay the increased premium!
Is the bonet in primer grey? I wouldn't want to re-spray it ;D

Poor Duckling........it's just not her month is it Only one more day to go for January! What's the betting on something happening tomorrow...... It was one of those classic evenings really; we were on our way to an open mike evening, which we have not been to for about a year! Simon said " We are going to have a nice evening out, we havent been for so long, there's nothing stopping us now!" to which I said, "there's only one thing that could" Simon says "dont worry, I'll drive carefully." ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D There's nothing more to say really. Have a nice evening everyone!

Neil You'll be pleased to know the number plate you cracked on the auto test last year survived. ;D The damage isn'nt to bad, the O/S wing is totalled along with the front panel. Along with the bonnet, grill, bumper, O/S headlight and indicator. Luckly it was a slow impact which the panels took all the force. The subframe and engine must be straight as it drove home okay.

Dave,
I though I had dibs on your Studio 2 bonet???
But might as well let Si have it as his need is greater than mine! i'll just settle for the garden shredder and mower!
